The final plenary session of the conference summed up the feminists’ concerns on care economy and care crises. In the context of current financial, economic, social and environmental emergency, women demanded transformation of the market model, which gives preferences to capital growth and efficiency. After an overview of the different theoretical approaches on masculinities and the links between these and the men’s movements, we analyzed how fatherhood has really changed over the ultimate decades. We concluded that the changes are more on an emotional and relational level than about the sharing of the daily care. The mental load of the care is still the proper of women.
Than we spoke about the project types with men which exist today in different parts of the world (South Africa, South America) and the guidelines to avoid perpetrating unequal gender relations in the implementation of new projects and programs. One of the issues of the discussions was to highline the importance for the pro feminist men’s movements to work in alliance with the feminist’s organizations and the difficulties to achieve this purpose. Nevertheless there is an emergency to do so as the masculiniste men’s movements are very organized (international network) and are more and more present in the public space.
